Partnership Manager - Heathrow Academy

Job Overview

The partnership lead will be responsible for the delivery of the Employer and Community engagement strategy as set out by the Head of Heathrow Academy.  They will work with stakeholders (employers and community) to ensure clear alignment of business and community requirements.  They will act as an Ambassador for the Heathrow Academy and will lead the Academy senior management team, developing and leading programmes to support Heathrow’s purpose of ‘making every journey better’.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Explore and identify new business opportunities for the Heathrow Academy in line with the employer engagement strategy  
  • To develop joint resourcing, development and apprenticeship plans with Heathrow employers
  • Provide regular communication through both formal and informal business reviews in order to develop excellent working relationships 
  • To be the expert on understanding the challenges that airport employers face which may have an effect on the implementation of agreed plans and programmes; specifically, a detailed understanding of internal and external factors which may affect their own accounts 
  • To be the expert on understanding the challenges faced in our local communities and how businesses need to adapt and/or change 
  • Effectively use the data available to drive the community and employer strategy across the academy 
  • Provide a supporting role to drive the senior management team 
  • To create, own and deliver a Heathrow Academy marketing strategy  
  • Work collaboratively with the Heathrow Academy team, especially the employer and community engagement teams  
  • Align and respond to skills gaps within the surrounding boroughs with Academy interventions 
  • Monitor performance of the Heathrow Academy team 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant experience in Business Development
  • Relevant experience in a senior management role and managing teams
  • Account management experience - A proven record in influencing others to develop and build successful business relationships 
  • Proven track record in management of individuals and teams to meet challenging targets 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences at all levels 
  • Organisational and time management skills 
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines  
  • Responsive to changing environments 
  • Excellent IT skills, including word, excel and PowerPoint 
  • Good knowledge of operating within a commercial environment
